Mark Gonzales

Global Client Business Executive Director

Mark Gonzales is a Director in BlackRock’s Global Client Business (GCB), leading executive communications for the Head of GCB. In his role, Mark works closely with the GCB Client Content team to create impactful messaging and materials that resonate with the firm’s clients. Mark also supports BlackRock’s wider Commercial Communications content strategy.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Mark led communications and brand at Adept Dynamics, a tech consultancy startup that specializes in developing custom Microsoft software solutions to improve its clients’ business operations.

Prior to joining Adept Dynamics, Mark was a Director in Weber Shandwick’s Corporate Reputation & Brand practice, focusing on corporate narrative development, working primarily with clients in the financial and professional services sectors. In addition to this programmatic narrative work, Mark served as day-to-day lead for the Nasdaq, Goodwin Procter, NerdWallet, Amazon (diversity & inclusion), and MKP Capital accounts.

Mark began his career as a member of FleishmanHillard’s Reputation Management practice in New York City.

Mark has deep experience leading and executing narrative and strategic communications work for clients across various sectors and at all stages of their growth cycles. He is proficient at planning and executing full spectrum strategic communications programs: program objective setting, stakeholder determination, message framework creation, and activation strategies that deliver the messages to the intended stakeholder audience types.

Mark earned his bachelor’s degree in Russian history with a minor in political science from Arizona State University where is he was the recipient of the four-year Chicanos Por La Causa Academic Scholarship and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He earned an International Studies degree in political science with a focus on Cold War history from Charles University in Prague.
